Other procedures include root resection, hemisection (removal of part of the tooth), or intentional replantation, where the tooth is temporarily removed to treat and reinsert it in better condition. These are performed only in specific cases and with careful planning.

Endodontic surgery is often recommended when: a previous root canal has failed, hidden canals or fractures are present, or there is persistent inflammation at the root tip that cannot heal on its own.

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia. With the use of dental microscopes and ultrasonic tools, the surgeon makes a small incision in the gum to access the root area, ensuring high accuracy and faster recovery.
